yet another gastronomic post

celebrated an early birthday with family at seafood international. SSD managed to get us a private room. me likes! :D

1. crispy mini squid & deep fried soft shell crab

2. double boiled cordyceps chicken with chinese herbal soup

3. baked sea bass in claypot

4. fried crayfish with black pepper sauce

5. thai baby kai lan with assorted mushroom

6. chilli crab with buns

7. seafood hokkien noodles in claypot

last dish was the lovely pomelo sago with mango cream dessert that i last had at jumbo changi and fell in love with. lols. too bad i was too full to have second helpings of it.  hmmmm. totally enjoyed dinner tonight, even though it burned a big big hole in my pocket. (second consecutive month my accounts are in the reds, but let's not talk about that. :P)

more good food next week! can't wait! ^_^

the korea gp was surprisingly good for hamilton this afternoon, as compared to his last few races. webber crashed out, taking rosberg with him, and hamilton gained 2 places. then vettel's engine failure allowed hamilton to climb up and finish in second. at least a podium this weekend! but looking at his championship points, i don't seem to have much confidence anymore. =\

up to the last 5 episodes of  读心神探, a new drama series about this senior inspector who is well-versed in reading the behavior of  people. he goes around solving crimes with this skill of his. besides my interest in detective/crime dramas, it's also pretty interesting to see how our subconscious movements can eventually give away our thoughts and feelings. makes me wanna go attend this course too. lol!

monday blues coming again. hope this week goes well. *cross fingers*

happy birthday 妈!

BOO! i can't use my Princess nickname in the office anymore! all because my manager CH told Hel over lunch that he's been waiting for his princess. so now whenever PL calls me princess, i get goosebumps. eeeeks!

here's a pictorial post to tantalize your taste-buds. wanted to meet up with 妈 to celebrate her birthday, and after a series of discussions, we ended up at riverview hotel.

started off with green tea tofu and pickled cucumber appetizers.

and then the main course(s)!

butter mushrooms. we all felt that it tasted weird.

salmon handrolls. little rice, big slices of salmon. very nice!

complimentary bbq prawns. i don't quite like this as the 'prawny' smell was very strong.

teapot soup. we all kept laughing when it was served, but it turned out to be yummy! we ordered 3 pots of this, though it's actually just soup (i don't know what soup) in a teapot.

sliced fish cake. very normal.

simple stir-fry teppanyaki veggies. but so nice that we ordered 4 plates in total.

totally broke now; $33++ for buffet dinner (we got 10% off through SSD's connections). but satisfied with crazy dinner. all of us laughed so much and probably made a nuisance of ourselves (as always!), though we don't really care. ^_^

for once i'm actually looking forward to genting trip next month. even though it's probably gonna be awkward. hmmm. i guess a whole weekend with SSD is too hard to resist. lols!

i am bored with it all.

my life has been pretty monotonous lately. work took up majority of my precious weekday nights. weekends were a little better.

under recommendation from PL, we went to watch the other guys.

she made it out to be SO hilarious, that it turned out to be quite a disappointment. majority of the 'jokes' were crude and cold, and the ones that actually made me laugh...well, i could count them off one hand. hmmm. perhaps it's my problem, cos the other people were laughing at almost everything. tsk.

i guess i could spare one spoiler. the funniest part would probably be the scene where the rock and his partner jumped off a building for nothing and died. i totally wasn't expecting it. lols. another spoiler: do stay after the credits for this 'funny' restaurant scene. =\

sighh. where have all the good movies gone to?! i'm wondering if it's gonna be worth the time and money to watch the ga'hoole owls anymore.

f1 on sunday was yet another major disappointment. guess i shouldn't expect any more miracles to happen. first a 5-place grid penalty for changing his gearbox and then further gearbox problems during the race. even more maddening when he was so close to chasing alonso! hais. 2010 season is seemingly over for hamilton. tsk.
