Just a Little Harmless Venting

just realized that my blogging has been rather monotonous lately; with only used-to-be-interesting random food photos. so in an attempt to spice up this place, i've joined plinky! it's a site created to curb writers' blocks by providing us a topic to blog about! kinda pathetic if you think about it, but i guess i need that something to ignite that blogging fire again.

and so, today's topic is VENT. i have loads.

recent one would be breakouts. on my poor face. *$#)&%# i can't even use makeup to hide them! and it can only mean one thing: monthly blood donation is near. with work and weekend outings, how very troublesome! not to mention the horrible mood swings. i'm lucky SSD understands now, but sooner or later i bet he's gonna blow up! rofl.

most obvious rant would be work. which has been on my nerves ever since i was moved to sales. totally have no motivation to work nowadays. what irks me most is the fact that i have to wait till february for the bonus, or even march/april, if i want to gain the experience from the IFAI exhibition. =(

after that, the next problem would be finding a job that matches my current pay. or even comes near. money already no enough!! boooo. furthermore, i'm more of a jack of all trades, master of none at the moment. i wonder what kind of job can i find?

but to solve the above problem, i can study, go for courses, or try for UniSim. then again, what subject should i take? -_-

sighhh. why must life be full of choices?!

how i wish reality was like that:

A fishing boat was docked in a tiny coastal village south of the border. An American tourist complimented the local fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them. "Not very long", answered the fisherman. "Then why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American. The man said that his small catch was enough for his family. The American asked, "What do you do with the rest of your time?" The fisherman replied, "I sleep late, play with my children, catch a few fish, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar and sing a few songs. I have fun…"

The American interrupted, "Hey, I have an MBA from Duke and I can help you. Start by fishing longer every day and selling the extra fish you catch then you can buy a bigger boat. The larger boat will bring in more money and you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet. Instead of selling to a middleman, you can sell directly to the processing plants. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, LA or New York City! There you can direct your enterprise."

"How long would that take?" asked the fisherman. "20-25 years", replied the American. "And after that?" asked the fisherman. "That's when it gets really interesting", answered the American, smiling. "When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!" "Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the fisherman.

"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny coastal village, sleep late, play with your grandchildren, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and playing the guitar with your friends!"

aaahhh at last~

i've always complained to 妈 about my shoulder and back aches, and nuffnang must have heard me!

haven't been using them ever since i switched to wordpress (a pity WP doesn't support the codes. boo!), so was kinda surprised i was 'chosen'. lol. anyway, was lazy to make a trip down, so i asked if they could mail it over instead. i was expecting them to say no, but noooooooo!

they mailed it over! how very nice! bye bye shoulder aches! :D

no road is long with good company

"we have a strange and wonderful relationship - he strange and i wonderful."

and today is our anniversary. so the strange one SSD brought me to vivocity for dinner! (actually we always eat out but today is special ma.)

it's the one i wanted to bring him to for his birthday. quite surprised that he would bring me here. i wonder if he remembered that i had mentioned it in passing, or just by chance he picked this restaurant.

apparently we were late by 10 mins, so our window seat got taken up. (yes my fault i know. =X) would have preferred a quieter table but i guess bobian. ambience would have been nice if there were lesser people too. boo. there was quite a lot of food to choose from, and prices were reasonable for 'fine dining'. thankfully the portion size isn't as miserable as the one in funan. lols.

complimentary appetizers - edamame and veggies! the peas were nice and warm for a change but veggies were yummier. they were so fresh and went so well with the miso paste! *drools*

SSD's salmon ikura don. salmon slices were fresh and yummy!! ^_^ (p/s underneath got rice one.)

my tenzaru. added lots of wasabi into the sauce. nice!! and the noodles are laid neatly instead of the usual one whole messy lump. hmmmmm.

ordered another salmon temaki, which ended up quite normal. i prefer the one at riverview hotel.

i think there were fireworks but too bad it was a work day so we couldn't stay to watch. but i shall assume that it was to celebrate for us. lol. :D

SSD got me a new diamond necklace for the anniversary.

chio! and bling-er than the previous one. i likes! =)

i told him not to waste such money liao lor! i really did! he don't want to listen i also bobian right?! but i ain't too bad either. got him a phiten bracelet. though, at least it has 'healing' properties. see i so thoughtful! whahaha. XD
