updates rolled into one

lemme blog before i forget what happened.

28 oct - tues

i really should have taken urgent leave.

  1. my leave was rejected cos pl's taking hers. she ended up cancelling it.

  2. silly me forgot to bring my wallet, so shopping and pubbing was cancelled! grrr~

  3. internal auditor used my computer the entire day. how nice.

ah wells. had dinner at ah ma's place. mum bought chocolate rum cake! the choc is damn rich, though not much rum taste. opened two bottles of wine too. the 2nd bottle was so horrible, that we decided to play guessing games with it. i din drink much; poor bro. XD

29 oct - wed

sat in at the ISO opening. freaked me out cos i thought she was gonna observe or 'interview' us. i didn't attend any ISO course!! lolx. luckily all went rather well, even the set of drawings which i had to prepare hastily 15 mins before she checked them.

went shopping with hl after work at bugis village. in heels. (@.@)

bought a couple of tops. pity it wasn't the weekend and that i was in heels. i could have shopped better if not.

30 oct - thurs

boring day today. not much work for me to do.

steamboat dinner was brought forward to today, and i was initially looking forward to having fun with the colleagues. but the absence of hl and presence of helen dampened my spirits a little.

headed down to shaw towers in helen's car. first thing i noticed upon stepping into the restaurant, was this particular waiter that looked so much like someone i know. =(

anyway, steamboat overall was good, though the spicy was reaaalllly very spicy. i love the bacon! atmosphere was nice too. laughed alot. hahx.

ahhhh~ tired and sleepy. hopefully tml passes quickly. f1 this weekend! ^^

tung lok dinner

celebrated mine and ah gong's birthday at jurong tung lok seafood. i love that place because of the salmon sashimi. nice, thick and fresh! =D

camwhore! guess i'm still not used to this phone's cam. the pics pretty much turned out blurry. (-.-)

also happened to spot mediacorp's richard low having dinner there as well. lol.

sighx. back to work tomorrow. so fast. at least i have the f1 this weekend to look forward to. go hamilton!

21 soon. yay?

cute mv:

long time no see

met up with someone whom i haven't seen for a long long time.

had dinner with kenneth at...causeway point. (-_-) well at least we had japanese. sakae sushi. lolx. but it was fun lah. always fun to go out with him cos he's hilarious. i've always managed to laugh my ass off. lols. dinner was a teeny bit bad though. we didn't eat much but the bill came up to almost 40 bucks! madness lor. feeling guilty cos i burst his budget. =x

after that, walked back home and sat by the poolside to talk. romantic right? LOL. wrong person though. tsk. anyway, moved on to more serious topics like marriage and having children and etc. lol. stuff like that scare me. and guess what?

we kena complain leh!! fooking cb idiot. my second time kena. i have a feeling it's the same person. knn scared noisy don't stay 2nd floor lah! 10 plus nia complain what shit. after kn left, he called to say the security guard told him that he didn't have to leave cos he could see we were just talking. diaox. these people got nothing better to do.

overall, i did have fun, though i'm not sure about kn. lol. (i wanna go timbre!)

taken from a random blog i chanced upon.

do you ever feel like you just can’t find your way? that you can’t find the place where you belong? you cant even find yourself? sometimes, it's easy to feel like you are the only one in the world who is struggling, frustrated, unsatisfied or barely hanging on, but that feeling is a lie. if you just hold on, if you just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you, and make it all okay. the truth is that, we all need a little help sometimes; someone to remind us that it will not always be this way.

that someone is out there..and that someone will find you.

am reminded of the old naive me that used to believe in something similar. friends forever? rarely. true love? bullshit. i think as i grow older, i see more and more of the depressing side of life.

went out for dinner + shopping with jw after work. it may be a mere few hours, but it's been awhile since i had enjoyed myself like this. we share the same shopping habits too! XD bought quite a lot of boxes for my 大扫除. they were rather pretty, but so hard to make! lol. was itching to clean up my room and it was so much fun. cleared lots of rubbish and now my room looks neater. *satisfied*

was reminded of school when i cleared all my notes. gosh i miss school. >.<

stressful day

stress stress stress...

important meeting tml. so many things to prepare. and with the ISO next week, even more stuff to do. sat in at the ISO meeting just now. even though it's merely our internal auditor, can feel the pressure already. but then again, who ask us everything do so last minute. X_x

btw, night buses now run from 12am to 2am. prices increased to $4, and 2 services have been dropped. give us this shit; might as well not have the night buses at all.

shopping plus 大扫除 tml. yay.

happy birthday

not too bad a day today.

learnt from my manager that the woman i had mentioned in my previous post got a horrible scolding at the meeting this morning. according to him, "if the owner continued his scolding for another minute or so, i think she would have cried." felt abit bad cos it's not very nice to get scolded in front of so many people, but then again, at least now she's tamer and less arrogant in her emails. =\

today's huilian's birthday, so the office celebrated for her and for me in advance. chocolate cake! ^^

camwhored alot more but we both agree we look horrible in those. (yes i know i'm fat.) >.< anyway, happy birthday girl~!

contemplating on yet another genting trip next fri. good cos i get to wear my boots again, AND get in the casino legally. bad cos the f1 qualifying rounds clashes with soccer, and being the soccer pub sportsbook is, i most probably won't get to watch f1 full. worst is, when i return on sunday half-dead, i have to stay up till past 3am to watch the race itself. haix.

ah wells. 2 more days to long weekend~!

i guess i need to stop my new-found obsession for f1 and lewis hamilton. i dreamt last night (this morning) that lewis came in 5th for q3 at brazil. (@.@) scary...

*rants about work*

there's this particular bitch woman at (company) that's so freaking niao. first she says "please submit your work program to me." so after i emailed her, she replied, "you are to send the work program to the rest as well. we also need official cover letters." cannot one time say all izzit? knn want cover letter for what!? [official cover letter means i gotta type out each letter addressed to each individual and send out individually.]

not to mention the previous pre-con issue. i merely asked if 10 metres was enough. she probably didn't know the size of the area, so she purposely make it hard for me by mentioning all the areas that she wants. die die also don't want to answer my question. when i told her i was not familiar with the site, guess what she said? "can you get your project manager to talk to me? or someone who knows the site well? i don't want to talk to any tom dick harry." kns lor.

i think that company abit brainless. we're only doing the rooftop; obviously building must be up first right? now building's contractor not even awarded, want us to start work. how to do you tell me? levitation? zzZz.

ah wells. i shall not let work ruin my mood. 3 more days now, to the long weekend, and 7 days to 21st. when i go up genting next month, i can proudly shove my passport under the noses of those guards that so many times refused me entry into the casino. lolx.

p/s. anyone knows where i can get vcds/dvds of previous f1 seasons? or where i can watch them free online? =\

monday blues~

from pl's blog:

"there's a difference between missing the memories and missing the person."

so true.

china grand prix

hamilton came in first, followed by massa, then his teammate kimi. hamilton's lead over massa increased to 7 points, and he only needs to come in 5th or better in brazil to become the youngest driver ever to win the f1 championship. yay for hamilton! =)

nail-biting race it was this afternoon. pole-sitter hamilton led all the way and came in a whole 15 seconds faster than massa. no mistakes this time, and quite a smooth and comfortable win for him. but 50 laps into the race, heiki's tyre burst, and he subsequently retired with a suspected gearbox problem. they commented that hamilton was using the same car. that was when i started worrying for hamilton. yes, silly me i know. luckily his was fine.

i feel massa wasn't worthy of his 2nd place AT ALL. it was soooo obvious that kimi had slowed down to let him pass. best part is, they didn't even bother to cover it up.

"Hamilton remained unchallenged at the front with a 13-seconds lead and it was left to the Ferrari team to swap places after 49 laps when Raikkonen slowed enough to let Massa pass him on the back straight." -  channelnewsasia.

i wonder how massa feels getting runner-up not because of his own abilities, but because of his teammate's sacrifice. booo. brazil gp qualifying starts 2 nov, and the race at 1am the next day. double booo. -_-

early bdae prezzie

goodbye s500i.........hello w980~!

thanks mum & dad for the phone. also thanks aunt for letting me use her line to upgrade. have been pining for w980 for......1 week already? lolx.

love the classy black clamshell design. love the external touchscreen display, yet with keylock function. love the music player. love the 8gb memory. bye bye my useless 1-hour-then-no-batt-already mp3 player.  love the landyard eyelet at the top instead. love the buttons. love the orange/white LED lights. love the built-in step counter, though god knows what use it has when the phone's lying on the table all the time. but anyway, lubs everything...

...except the fact that it's un-fingerprint-proof. uh huh. same as my z610i, it gets 'dirty' with fingerprints after awhile. so reluctant to take off the plastic sheet covering the external display. the camera doesn't produce nice photos too, despite being 3.2 megapixel. i think my old 2 megapixel is even better. tsk.

read many reviews that it was a high-end phone, so i was rather thrilled when the price started to drop. guess what? i paid less than 200 bucks for it. okay maybe not me pay, but still..worth right?! lolx. ^^v

china grand prix qualifying rounds this afternoon. hamilton came in first for all 3 rounds, so he's gonna be pole-sitter again. mai ya-ya-papaya liao. FOCUS~!

i'm sure everyone's heard of by now, but if you haven't, do take a look. this site offers samples from big and small brands. you get some points to redeem the samples in the beginning, and after that get more points by doing surveys or referring others. you do have to pay for the postage, so it's not exactly free. still, i've gotten some samples from them and i actually do find it quite worthwhile.

1. i pay the small postage fee through ibanking at the comfort of my own home, and i get the samples delivered straight to my home. great for lazy people like me. =x

2. since i have skin problems, it's very risky to buy the full product at retail price, only to find out it's not suitable for my skin. fr3b samples lets me try out the products first, and if they're good, i can get them without worries. safer eh?

3. fr3b sometimes gets samples for products not yet sold in singapore. you get to be one of the first few people to try them!

4. i travel to genting (ahem) quite frequently (ahem), and bringing these samples save me the hassle of lunging bottles and bottles of heavy makeup or cleansers or whatever. more space for shopping!

i'm sure you'll be able to find out more uses for fr3b, so go sign up! or do me a favour pweese? n_n

weekend in genting

so sad!

din manage to have my retail therapy up there, cos i spent most of the time in the casino. luckily i managed to win a little! =x

bought this little crown though. *acts cute*

spent quite a lot at the arcade too. lubs time crisis! saw this young boy at the toy-grabbing machine and followed his style of grabbing the toys. look what i got from my first time at it!

caught the f1 japan grand prix live at sportsbook. was just in time; managed to get there 10 minutes before the race started. there were a few ferrari supporters. heng hamilton also got. i finally understood why people like to watch soccer matches together. it's more fun when you get to cheer and boo with everyone else. lol.

was kinda excited about this race cos i had seen the repeat telecast of the qualifying rounds at the casino. hamilton would be first on the starting grid. but seconds after the race started, i felt abit sianz already.

his slow start plus sharp brake at the first turn not only caused him to lose his lead, but also resulted in a unfair penalty. if that's not enough, that massa deliberately knocked him into a spin when hamilton tried to overtake him. grrrrr~ although massa got a WELL-DESERVED penalty, hamilton had to change his tyres after that, losing more time.

when i saw that hamilton was behind the leader by almost a whole minute, i gave up hoping for him to speed up. instead, i was praying for massa (or anyone else) to crash heavily and the safety car to be out. that way at least hamilton had a better chance of getting some points. sadly, nothing like that happened.

in the end, hamilton finished 12th. his 7-point lead over massa dropped to 5 points, cos massa finished 7th. haiz. there's the china gp next sunday, and the final brazil gp 2 weeks after that. hamilton ah hamilton... :((

2 more days

the new accounts girl at RT is nice! funny how we clicked so easily; it's only her 2nd day and we've made plans to go shopping and sushi-eating. maybe she reminds me of cy. oh wells. work's gonna be more fun now that she's here. :)

3rd consecutive day of working (unpaid) OT. couldn't stand it so i left earlier, at 7pm. >< rather tempted to take dad's advice and quit. but since my resume isn't too good-looking, i shall stay! dear all, do not attempt to tempt me into quitting. thx.

haix. itching for a round of retail therapy. 3 more days! going up (again) to genting for the weekend. i shall buy, buy & buy~!! lolx.

breeks & harry's

met jx for dinner and pubbing (yesterday?). had breeks. dory fillet ftw! i find lime spice much better than the creamy one. yums! i realize nowadays, salads don't come with thousand island. instead, they use some weird but nice sauces. i like too! ;D

went esplanade rooftop after that. ironic cos i was just telling a friend that i probably wouldn't step in there as it holds too many bittersweet memories. oh wells.

headed down to harry's. i'm glad we went there instead of clarke quay. i din know they actually launched their own beer just a few days ago. jx told me he could taste barley...even though i couldn't. >.<

it tastes much much better than tiger/carlsberg/corona/sol. although they said harry's is stronger, it actually tasted lighter to me. i think after trying this, i won't drink any of the other beers. lol.

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign, which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.

That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind.

Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have.
Be creative. Be innovative.
Think differently and positively.
Invite others towards good with wisdom.
Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that
you have 1000 reasons to smile.
Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without fear.
Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, "Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience."

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

tireds. and nursing a sudden bout of sore throat. nitex! (p/s. thanks for the dinner/pubbing. next one on me!)

i take back what i said.

i do NOT enjoy work when i have to stay back till almost 11pm to work on the costing for a project that's NOT handled by me. i'm not paid for OT even! guess what's worse? my 28 oct leave wasn't approved!! waaaaa~~

escape artist

munchkins escaped for the first time this morning. freaked me out leh! but felt a tiny twinge of happiness cos i had a valid reason to take urgent leave. yet less than a minute later, i found him in the toilet. -.- silly boy. haven't had time to clean him this morning, and when i came back just now, bro told me he escaped again. and bit my bro. lolx.

am gonna get a wire mesh to cover the top, so cher if you're reading this, i shall try my best not to let him escape again. (in case he goes next door and scares the GR to death.)

here's him sleeping in bathing sand while poor me is cleaning his tank. he's grown so big now, and he has similar markings as russbabe, cept for the colors. not quite as tame as russbabe, but still lubs my silly boyboy. :)

i initially wanted to rant and vent, but i had already done so to poor jx in the afternoon, so i shall so nicely share my thoughts.

number 1: my boss' english is ridiculously off. i'm not expecting perfect english and grammer, even if it's from the director, but still, how can "VERNON" be spelt as "VENOM"? he actually sent the email out! omg. -.-

number 2: whenever there's a problem, everyone starts avoiding phone calls. same goes for suppliers chasing payment. poor me is pushed to answer the calls and guess who feels the wrath? poor me. not fair leh!!

oh wells. shall bear with it since i quite enjoy my job.

deepavali is on 27th instead of 28th oct! there goes my free day. anyone willing to pei me take leave on the 28th? =x

goodbye september

last day of september! time passes so fast.

it's been 2 months at RT. so far so good. and as if i ain't stressed enough, i've just been 'awarded' yet another project to handle. ho-ho-ho. more projects = more work = higher risk of making mistakes = but also more chances to prove myself. thanks for the early confirmation; that increase can fund me an extra shopping/pubbing session each month. :D

but i miss my girls. can we please come out soon?

boss brought us out for a 3-hour lunch yesterday. cos it was qh's last day. went ah yat seafood restaurant at shaw tower for dim sum. i heard they have 50% off selected items from monday to saturday. shall bring ah ma down some day. :)

the xiaolongbao was lovely, especially with the ginger vinegar. charsiewbao also nice. and the peking duck! but not as nice as the one we had in beijing. hmmm what else? mango pudding! and this pumpkin dessert. they look so cute! must try! lol.

the f1 saga here is over soon, but not quite for me. it was my first time watching an f1 race and i got hooked. lewis hamilton!!! (massa's quite cute too.) 3 more stops to go. am gonna follow it on cable. *prays for lewis to win*

welcome october. ^^
