[sponsored review] My Bio-essence Tanaka White experience

More goodies from my favorite brand of skincare/makeup! Yay! This time I received a bottle of 4X Intensive White Serum and a tub of Double Whitening Day Cream.

Tanaka White 4X Intensive White Serum [$45.80/30ml]

Labelled as their star product, this serum is specially blended with traditional and modern ingredients, including 4 of the greatest whitening ingredients: alpha-Arbutin, Tanaka Extract, Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid. It targets, combats and treats the causes of dark spots and uneven skin, providing highly intensive whitening and brightening for a luminous, fairer and more radiant skin, with superior whitening effect that can be seen after just 4 days!

  • Effectively lightens existing pigments and spots
  • Blocks tyrosinase and inhibits the production of melanin to prevent dark spots and reduces darkening after UV exposure
  • Evens out skin tone, whitens & brightens complexion
  • Moisturizes and cools skin
  • Skin exudes radiance, revealing a smooth, fair & healthy-looking complexion.
  • Skin’s fairness intensifies for flawless fair skin which glows from within

Struggled a little with the dropper at first, before I finally found out how to use it properly. (Yes you may laugh.) One squeeze is actually enough to cover my entire face and neck. Love this serum. It's light and fragrant, and absorbs so easily into my skin.

Tanaka White Double Whitening Day Cream SPF 20 [$29.80/50ml]

This cream comes with SPF 20, Tanaka Extract and Tranexamic Acid to help suppress excessive  production of melanin, protects skin from harmful sunlight and repairs skin for instant fairness from within so that skin glows with crystal clear luminosity. Regain bright and naturally fair skin as it helps repair damaged cells and encourage cell renewal. It is uniquely formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to keep skin hydrated and moisturized, and is lightly textured with a non-greasy formula to facilitate fast absorption. Tanaka Extract helps to keep skin cool.

I don't really like tub containers, so that's a minus one. Texture is not exactly non-greasy, so it leaves a slight shine on my face. At the end of the day my face becomes a little more oily than if I didn't use this cream. Perhaps it suits dry skin more? But I'm glad it has SPF 20. Yay to more sun protection!

Overall, I didn't see much difference personally, despite using it religiously every day. But I went over to my grandma's house about a week after using these, and my aunt commented that my face looks fairer. So I guess it works! ^^v

[sponsored review] Curel Sebum Care series

Received this set of products some time back. Was quite happy initially when I saw the name of this series. Sebum Care. I super need! Lol. Erm, sorry for the grainy image. :X

Curel Sebum Care Foaming Wash [$19.80/150ml]
Ultra fine foam with sebum solvent to thoroughly cleanse dirt and excess sebum while protectng ceramide.

I liked how nice and cool my skin felt after using this. Although I had to wash twice before it felt clean enough. Personal opinion.

Curel Sebum Care Lotion [$24.90/150ml]
Non-sticky formula prepares skin for better absorption of moisturiser / essence that is used after the lotion.

By lotion, it's actually toner. Absorbs quite fast.

Curel Sebum Care Moisture Gel [$34.90/120ml]
Liquid based gel spreads easily for speedy absorption into deeper layers of skin without leaving skin sticky.

It left my skin feeling slightly sticky and shiny.

Not much comments for these as it didn't work out between us. I broke out the next day after using this, so I stopped at once. But I thought perhaps the breakout was due to my monthly blood donation, so after a week or so, when my skin had cleared, I gave it another try. Same problem. :(

But don't let it scare you off. It's just me being unsuitable for this product. If you're worried, you can always redeem your Sebum Care samples here.
