USS part 3: AE, SF & NY

after the wet wet ride at lost world, we headed to ancient egypt to dry ourselves. lol. it did seem hotter at this area since there weren't many shelters around. and i can't help but mention how disappointed i was. i was kinda expecting it to be dark and mysterious with interesting-looking ancient artifacts and mummies, and perhaps one or two 'did you know?' facts on ancient egypt. but unfortunately, i saw none of these.

someone needs to tell them, ancient egypt isn't just about anubis. -_-'''

sighhx. there were only 2 rides here. first one was called 'revenge of the mummy', which from the description outside, appears to be yet another rollercoaster thingy, but much more scarier than the others. and therefore we skipped this ride. the other one was as boring as the place. we queued for 20 mins just to 'drive' a jeep round a 3-min track with horribly fake animals along the way.

gosh! X_x

after ancient egypt, we came to sci-fi city, where the main rollercoasters were still closed. i think that was why this area was exceptionally quiet.

we went on this ride called 'accelerator', which is similar to those spinning 'teacups' i used to ride as a kid, except that these were faster and not so cute. pretty high and fun. we went twice even. lols.

the last section in USS was new york. this consists of mainly streets and restaurants. and a whole bunch of photos.

for the only 'ride' available, we were brought into a studio with the front stage set to look like an old warehouse in the middle of a new york thunderstorm. the rain and heavy waves outside the window looked super realistic! we could feel the heat from the fire caused by lightning/short circuit, and when a small boat fell into the water from above, the front row got splashed. even the windows flew off and the front part of a ship crashed into the warehouse. very interesting effects!

took a short break by the 'lake' and walked through the whole USS another time (that's when we took our 2nd rides). then headed out. and so ending the highly-anticipated but quite-disappointing trip to USS. i'm glad we only paid $15 each for our tickets. i think i probably would be cursing and swearing if i had paid the weekend $72. definately not worth the price! boo. :(

i seldom post so many 自戀 pics de lor...

hmm. satio baby cam and iphone cam where got no difference?! =\ took the tram out for our dinner at harbourfront and then couldn't decide what to eat.

appetizer!

smoked salmon & crab meat pasta. still my fave!

aunt's vegan pasta.

curry + chicken cutlet for the boys.

and headed home. lalala.

... ...

USS part 2: FFA, WW & LW

more from universal studios! a longer post this time i think, cos this part is slightly more interesting than the rest. hmm. so after hollywood and madagascar in the first post, we then came upon:

a little house in far far away. and the owner of the house...

lol. we queued for the rollercoaster ride first. (the queue was like, 30 mins, and the ride was over in barely 2 mins.) it's been ages since i last rode on a rollercoaster, and boy it freaked me out, even though it's a JUNIOR rollercoaster ride. tsk. the high-speed corners were pretty scary; felt like i was gonna fly off any minute. and i kept screaming. lol. but you know what? at the end of the day, we went on this for a second time. tsk tsk. why do i scare myself like that? =\

we went for the 4D adventure next.

we were given those 3D glasses and brought first into a room where we all stood around listening to a boring story, and then into a large 'movie theatre'. the story was about princess fiona being kidnapped by the ghost of lord farquaard, and shrek and donkey have to rescue her.

besides the usual 3D effects, there were also moving seats, mist sprays and etc. i like the first scene where donkey sneezes on screen and some mist is actually sprayed at us. so cool! but i get freaked out easily so there were quite some scenes that scared me. so embarrassing. =\

i wouldn't mind watching this a second time if not for the first part where we all had to stand in the 'dungeon'. that part was boring. lol. and you know what this means? I CAN WATCH 3D~!!!!! :D

lalala. random...

we then came to a split road and we chose waterworld first.

it's actually part of lost world, but i don't know why it's split out on its own. hmmm. was actually kinda anticipating this section cos i wanted to see for my own eyes what my project looked like in real life. i was disappointed. lols.

this section actually consists of just a live show. i think the story is about this group of people (the good guys) looking for dry land in a world of only water. a female joins them who claims to know where dry land is. another group (the bad guys) appear and take the female hostage, killing the rest, and wanting her to reveal where dry land is. but then this guy appears and goes through alot to save her.

hmmmm. lame story, but the stunts and explosions and fireworks and stuff were cool! the seats were also divided into 3 sections. we took the middle one, which means we had a little bit of chance to get wet. well we didn't. the front section did though. the performers literally threw buckets of water at them.

went for lunch after the show. at lost world.

initially i thought food court food would be less pricy, but guess how much 2 laksa sets and 2 wanton mee sets total up to? almost $50! but they did give us $5 meal voucher each, so it wasn't so bad. was it? hmmmm.

went for yet another rollercoaster ride after eating. this time it was the 'suspended' kind. the whole ride was shorter than the FFA one, but equally scary cos my legs were dangling in the air. gave me a bit of shock at first cos it actually looked pretty slow from the ground.

rapids adventure next. it's more exciting than the dinosaur boat ride in genting, but slower than the one i tried in australia. after queueing for around 40 mins (right?), we climbed on board this round raft which brought us along this river, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, with fake (duh!) dinosaurs at the sides.

entered this dark dark cave, and came sliding down this slope and splashing into the water. and i got wet. VERY wet. it was as if someone aimed a huge bucket of water straight at my face. lols. but very fun. probably my favorite ride in the whole place. but the waiting time was horrendous. tsk.

... ...

phew. another the end! 1 more part to end uss. =)

USS part 1: HW & JTM

i figured that i'm probably gonna take ages to upload and edit the 100+ photos i have from the USS trip yesterday, so i'd better split them up into several posts. furthermore, if i crammed ALL the stuff and photos into one single post, i guess it would take me a week or so to finish. lols. no can do. so here goes. :D

it was nice, bright, and sunny the whole day, perfect for the outdoors.

first one up was hollywood.

didn't find it interesting so not much photos. rofl. next was madagascar.

the boat ride still wasn't open yet, so we went on the only ride available: merry-go-round. =|

bro having a quick chat with melman. lmao.

and what's JTM (journey to madagascar) without the penguins?

but my fave's still pretty gloria. super sweet! =D

lalala. i actually spotted gloria's clip-on ears in the shop at the end of the day. they were so cute! wasted. nothing much in the shop otherwise. penguins everythere...

the end! FFA, WW, and LW in the next post! ;)
