the time is always right to do what is right.

[week-long backlog blogging]

1. what would you do when your boss counter-offers with a much higher salary than your offer outside? well, unfortunately, i chose to stay. so yes, despite the numerous complaints and rants about RT, mee has decided to stay. and suffer. :( oh the things i'd do for money. boo.

2. disappointing germany grand prix - a ferrari one-two. but at least the FIA investigated the team orders for massa to let alonso take the lead instead. the team was fined $100k in the end, but sadly the results still stand. alonso ferrari should be banned! =X

hamilton started p6 on the grid and came in 4th place. but it was still disappointing to me because he came in a whopping 26 seconds after 3rd place vettel. like, damn pathetic can?! let's hope they fix the cars up in time for the hungarian grand prix this sunday.

3. horrible horrible day today. long, tired, sleepy boring day. plus house-viewing after work. taking the train during peak hour was just horrendous; i was practically sweating and cursing and swearing the whole journey. kill me please, if i have to take the damn train everyday.

4. new house was....very disappointing. that's what happens when you always have too high expectations of everything. but since family likes it and paid deposit, no choice lor. i guess i have to spend a bomb on doing up my room. $_$

sighh. is it just me or are things coming down all at once?

limbo would be nice.

yet another rainy day. mee no likes! especially when i don't have my umbrella with me. =( heard there were lots of floods from yesterday's day-long rain too. tsk tsk.

met SSD for lunch, movie and dinner. lols.

sci-fi movies are so not me, so obviously this is SSD's. initially i thought it would be long and boring and difficult to understand. but surprisingly it turned out just the opposite. it was pretty action-packed i must admit, and the plot kept me following it that it didn't feel like a 148-minute movie at all.

we chose to watch in digital (which according to the ticket counter, it has something to do with the sound effects), though i'm not very sure if there's any difference. but the special effects were cool!! especially the folding city and zero-gravity scene. just wow! 8)

i particularly liked the idea of limbo. in the film, a few moments in real-time could be decades in limbo. imagine we could all take a 30-minute break during lunch and enter limbo. we could all have probably a day off to do what we want and come back refreshed. or take a day off, go limbo, and come back feeling as if you've been on a month-long holiday. cool isn't it?!?! lols.

sighhh. monday blues hitting already. now that's reality. =(

the king of fruit is smelly

boss made a last minute decision for a durian-feast which was cancelled 2 weeks ago. well first, it was hot outside. second, i was wearing a skirt. and third, she never bothered to ask if we all could make it. pfft! which made me pretty 不爽. but luckily they decided to switch the venue to east coast. so it made me a tiny bit happier.

don't you just love the beach? after a while, i couldn't resist anymore and went straight down to soak my feet in the water. plus the salty sea breeze, the pretty 浪花, the eagle/seagull/whatever flying overhead, the blue blue sky, blue blue water.....such a wonderful feeling! :D

getting far far away from the durian-eating group was my secondary reason for going down to the water. the smell was terrible. i tink ST bought the good ones. uber strong stench smell. lols.

sighhh. 媽 just told me some shocking news. actually not very shocking lah. just that i didn't expect it to be tomorrow. that's gonna be 2 gone from RT by the time september comes. can't help but feel a sense of euphoria whenever i think about leaving RT. tsk.

pleasure is the bait of sin

singnet is having its usual bout of crappy lag and i can't game in peace. hmmmmmmm.

manhattan's with SSD yesterday. you know, at first i thought he brought me there cos i was in a bad mood and he wanted to cheer me up. 原來 it's just because he wanted to eat the spaghetti and mud pie. tsk tsk!!

seafood spaghetti. i should have eaten this. it was on promotion for only $4 and i certainly didn't expect it to (1) be of a normal-sized portion, (2) come with so much ingredients.

the usual fish-n-chips. to be fair, it's still one of the best i've had. so far. =|

potato-tuna thingy. the top slightly-burnt layer is cheese, then the mashed potatoes, and bottom half filled with yummy tuna&veggies goodness! was surprisingly nice.

ultimate sin. mudpie! the chocolate ice cream is super rich and the crust is on the top this time. it felt more like cake than ice cream to me. and with all the choc syrup....gosh! all that calories! >_<

sinful dinner! i felt so guilty lor. *must not let SSD tempt me anymore!*

another saturday gone...

met up with anton early this morning. the place was freaking far and inconvenient, and the weather was so hot! sweating like mad when i finally reached. grrr.

for the next 45 mins or so, he explained to me in detail on the job offers and i must admit, they certainly are tempting me. especially the flexi timings - can go study part-time! provided both sides accept me lor. *cross fingers* am dreading tendering my resignation though. knowing hel, i'm pretty sure it's gonna be dramatic. sheesh.

anyway, then met SSD for lunch and movie! *happy*

was watching that trailer last night and for some reason, i found it super hilarious. i just couldn't stop laughing! lols.

the show itself was not too bad. there were quite a few scenes which i've seen in various trailers already, so i didn't find them as funny as before. nevertheless, i enjoyed it. the minions are so cute! and on gru turning from villian to model dad at the end, it was heartwarming, but unexpected.

sighhh. so many movies i wanna watch - last airbender, sorcerer's apprentice, cats & dogs, triple tap... how i wish it would rain money! =|

popped down funan to get SSD's harddisk thumbdrive. came across this perfume shop having sale.

finally got what i was waiting for (2 years ago)! (1) it's pink! (2) bottle is so pretty! (3) smells so so nice! (4) it's practically selling at half price! so yep, mee is happy. :D SSD got his hugo boss too. took uber long for him to decide. tsk tsk.

slacked near boat quay for awhile, when we saw mini fireworks from the NDP rehearsal. so we decided to move nearer the esplanade, hoping there'll be more.

and there was! full-scale fireworks display!

not many nice shots even though both of us were taking. satio baby....just isn't good for fireworks. i guess i'm gonna have to resort to video-taking at the actual NDP next month. lalala~

still feeling guilty about tomorrow. next week ok? sorry 老公!

decisions, decisions...

“When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like astronaut, president, or in my case… princess.

When we were ten, they asked again and we answered - rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist. But now that we’ve grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how ‘bout this: who the hell knows?!

This isn’t the time to make hard and fast decisions, its time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere chill. Fall in love - a lot. Major in philosophy ‘cause there’s no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind. Then change it again, because nothing is permanent.

So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be… we won’t have to guess. We’ll know.”

- Jessica Stanley, Eclipse

stole this from zhu's blog. and from a friend's msn pm:

"if you don't like where you are, change it. you are not a tree."

was on mc today. and hopefully tomorrow. headache wasn't the main culprit. reluctance to return to work was. i guess its time to move on. despite having been in different working environments, i realized one thing hasn't changed - being at the top of the corporate ladder doesn't equate to happiness. enjoying what you do, does.

i'm gonna miss that salary. but 22+ isn't exactly the age i should be worrying about paying the bills right? i can live life to the fullest now and worry about the money later, or i can work hard now and regret missing out on life later.

i think...i choose not to regret.

guess what i ate for dinner?

yep. my sixth jap dinner this week alone. sheesh.

met zhu after her work and since she wanted ramen, we headed for nihon mura. but in the end she ate sushi too. cos she said scared they take very long to serve the food. and luckily she didn't have ramen. if she took 20 mins to eat 4 plates of sushi, we'd probably be late if she had ramen. lols.

have been waiting so so long for this 3rd installment.

it was lovely, though it didn't quite hit my expectations. but then again, i seem to have high weird expectations so i guess it doesn't count.

[spoiler]

obvious flaws first. eclipse is supposed to be the most action-packed part of the saga - with the fight between the cullens and the newborn army of vampires and the wolves all joining in. which lasted like, 10 mins in the 2-hour film? -_- i guess it focused way too much on the love triangle between edward, bella and jacob. not that i minded though. who could complain having too much buff and half-naked eye candy running around? :D

they also didn't follow the book as closely as i would have liked it. while i understand that it's not possible to cram a book 3 inches thick into a movie, there were somehow a couple of things that made me go "HUH????"

(1) i don't know why the hell they replaced rachelle lefevre as victoria. bryce dallas howard has too much of the wide-eyed innocence to play the bloodthirsty villian.

(2) training for the battle against the newborn army was supposed to take place in the middle of the night. NOT in broad daylight. just...kinda weird.

(3) bella was NOT supposed to really go and cut herself when edward was fighting victoria. tsk. and speaking of this scene, edward and victoria's fight was plain ewwwww. it was supposed to be graceful. it was supposed to look like they were dancing! NOT wrestling on the ground. tsk tsk.

but but but! to be fair...

(1) i was expecting a more child-like riley, but this riley is kinda hot. he has both that bad guy look when faced with edward and that lovesick look when with victoria. niceee.

(2) they injected a lot more sarcasm into charlie swan. very entertaining. especially that part where at first he is glad that bella is taking some timeoff from edward to go visit her mom, and then mentally kicks himself when he realizes edward's going with her. super funny!

(3) CGI wolves look soooo cute and adorable and sweet and what-not. awwwwwwww.

(4) cullen family looks as good as before (especially edward)! and so does the wolves (jacob!!!!). julia jones plays the part of leah clearwater pretty well too.

(5) the short battle scene was just amazing. because of all the dismembering and broken limbs and killings in this scene, i've always wondered how they're gonna create it. and ta-da! clay and plaster. interesting~~

so that sums it up. my eyes were practically glued to the screen. and this must be my longest movie review so far. rofl. the twilight saga movies just keep getting better. now i can't wait for breaking dawn, though i heard it will be split into 2 movies instead. bah! i hate waiting and anticipating and longing for and thinking and wishing. i want it NOW!! :(

(all that lovey dovey scenes in the movie.....where is my SSD?!?! boo.)

[sales co-ordinator] update on projects, monitor work programme, keep abreast of site matters, sourcing and purchasing materials,  understand and handle shipping, read drawings, do simple drafting, doing costing reports, admin a.k.a bao ka liao, handle sales enquiries and tenders, marketing.

please enlighten me what is the purpose of asking whether i prefer projects or sales, when at the end of the day i still have to do both? boo. :( got super pissed off by her today that i was seriously contemplating resigning next monday. didn't help that i still had to OT till 7 plus. hais.

i told 媽 that i felt like singing song. "...我想哭但是哭不出來..."

*shakes head*

anyway, SSD brought me out for dinner again! =) this time to a cosy little ramen shop at robinson quay. managed to search the name: menya shinchan. apart from the fact that (1) it was freaking far and inaccessible, (2)  it was drizzling, and (3) it was my fifth jap dinner this week, i'd say it was a pretty nice experience.

i liked the decor - very 'authentic japanese' and different from other jap restaurants. the waitresses could also converse in japanese (i think). pretty interesting. however the menu, unfortunately, was also in japanese, and i had absolutely no idea what i ordered.

uhhhh. i assumed that i was supposed to dip the noodles into the sauce, which by the way, was very salty. it was also full of corn (which was nice), half an egg (i don't know how they did it but it was quite special and yummy), and some dunno-what-meat. noodle portion was huge. but i still managed to finish. sobs.

SSD's was funny.

rofl. full of corn and veggies and beansprouts. and soup. and noodles. lol. also very salty. nevertheless, i have to admit, the soup stock they used was rich and flavorful and smelt so nice! but i probably won't purposely make the effort to dine there again. =|

... ...

have been wanting to try these ever since they were mentioned on xx's blog. and now i've got the chance!

cute hor?! XD

... ...

last bit before i begin my latest drama addiction 『谈情说案』.
