went to watch percy jackson yesterday.
i like the storyline, mainly because of my interest in the ancient greek mythology. though i do find it pretty ridiculous how zeus automatically accuses poseidon's son of being the lightning thief. and couldn't they have come up with a better reason for lucas to make stealing the lightning bolt more worthwhile?
i also don't like the part in camp half-blood where grover introduced a group of bikini-clad girls as aphrodite's children. they made aphrodite seem like some kind of slut and i refuse to see my favorite goddess as one. hrmph.
otherwise, i suppose this movie is not too bad. lols.

received an email from an aunt today.

let's talk about foie gras. it's a very luxury menu that originated from france.
let's see the source of this 'wonderful' dish.
the geese are forced to eat, even if it does not desire to.
the metal pipe passes through the throat straight to the stomach.
to make the liver bigger and fatter, the geese are kept in cages that are very small. they are forced to stay in one position to avoid using energy, thus converting all food into fat.
their legs become bloated from long standing everyday. they are not allowed to sleep as they will be held to eat again.
although they try to defend themselves, refusal is useless.
how sad.
they are forced to eat until their bodies cannot take it anymore and they die. with food still in the mouth.
those who survive, have inflamed asses that bleed as shit comes out with it.
what other pains and sufferings can be more than such inflicted tortures? not only do their mouths and throats hurt, their stomachs also ache from all the food. no sleep, no exercise, no free will to see the sky or river.
the result is a 'beautiful' and white liver that becomes unusually big like this.
this is no survival need. it's a selfish want.
what right does mankind have, to inflict such un-needed pain on another defenceless being? when, if you think about it, we're all just visitors in equal standings on planet earth.
i'm curious. how does it feel like to be eating a liver with fatty liver disease, from a goose that's been force-fed through such cruel means, and still having to fork out hundreds for this 'delicacy'? i guess i would feel like a total idiot.
to be honest, i've received this email before, many years ago. it did not affect me as much back then as it does now. i'm not saying everyone should become vegetarians, cos even i'm only semi. but i'm so glad i gave it up and i can never see myself going back to meats. perhaps i may even give up seafood gradually. lols.
right. i don't really care if i'm offending any idiots who love these diseased livers. :)
